Welcome to Mikaela's Graduation Project Wikispace!

My topic is about painting murals. More specifically, I will be going through how to produce an accurate and effective mural. I will try my best to do my own mural in the school hallway, as I have been asked to. If nothing comes from that, for any reason at all, I will make a how-to video with my own wall at my house. I'm actually excited with my topic, becuase it's something I enjoy on the art side, but a new twist for me. I can tell it will not be easy, but what is in life?

Driving Question:
What are the steps to help artists paint an effective mural to create a wanted atmosphere in the home or a building?

Summary of Research Topic:
My Graduation Project will be based on the skill and techniques of creating a mural. I will learn how to plan then paint a mural that is effective as it boosts murale and encourages the hope and success of education in our school.

Thesis Statement:We walk down streets and corridors that are decorated with art, but we never take time to actually understand it or look at it, even though we can see it. Knowing and learning how to do something is the very first step to achieving your goals. Murals take patience and passion, of which we could all use more help in.

A turtle painted in the Denman Island Workshop by Richard Tetrault. I like the way he makes symbolic pictures inside of the mural and the different styles he uses around the turtle. I really like this short video because it helped me to look deeper into everyday things around me to give me inspiration on finding things to do my mural on.
